Funding Options for Art Residencies in the United States

Participating in an artist-in-residence program can be a great opportunity for creating a network with your peers and other art professionals, but we know that finding those that cover your accommodation, production, travel or daily needs is not an easy task. That’s why we've gathered a list of artists' grants for residencies in the United States that we believe can help!


Interdisciplinary Residency Program - Oak Spring Garden Foundation

Each Interdisciplinary Residency session is designed to support residents who might be: artists, conservation practitioners, researchers, scholars, scientists, or writers who are pursuing work inspired by plants, gardens, and landscapes.

Location: Upperville, VA, USA

Rewards: $2,000 funding with accommodation included

Residency Program - Surel's Place

Surel's Place is a modern live-work space, nestled by the Boise River in the heart of the Surel Mitchell Live-Work-Create District. The program is open to professional visual, literary, and performance artists: painters, writers, musicians, architects, filmmakers, and choreographers.

Location: City Garden, IN, USA

Rewards: $100 weekly stipend, travel, production, and accommodation included

Chicago MOPD Artist in Residence Program

The MOPD Artist in Residence program aims to provide space for an artist to develop and lead cultural programs for and by persons with disabilities and seniors, help inform a strategic plan for the future of the facility’s spaces and programmatic uses and facilitate the public’s understanding of the space.

Location: Chicago, IL, USA

Rewards: $60,000 total budget, production

Access Arts AiR

The program offers both live‐in and non‐live‐in residencies with contracts lasting between 3 months and up to one year with the possibility of extension. Two live-in ceramics residencies are available as well as one non-ceramic live-in residency.

Location: Columbia, MO, USA

Rewards: $100 for non-live-in residents/month or $200 for on-site residents/month

Deadline: August 31, 2022

 

 

Hyundai Artlab - VH award 5th edition

A global jury of esteemed curators will select five artists who will each receive a grant to complete their project and an online residency with Eyebeam. The five finalists will also present their works through online and in-person exhibitions with leading global art platforms.

Rewards: $25,000 awarded to the 5 finalists with accommodation included
