David Revés

Independent curator, art critic and researcher


David Revés (1992, Lisbon) is an independent curator, art critic and researcher. Currently attending the Master of Communication Sciences - Contemporary Cultures and New Technologies (FCSH - NOVA University of Lisbon, PT), preparing a thesis on the seminal relations between art and death. Has a Master of Artistic Studies - Theory of Art, Art Criticism and Curatorship (Faculty of Fine Arts - University of Porto, PT).

As curator has developed several exhibition projects such as Rodrigo Gomes, “Whispering Mirrors”, Carpinatarias de São Lázaro, Lisbon, "A Hunted Time", group show co-curated with Nicolai Sarbib (Casa do Capitão, Lisbon); "Michael Biberstein: feeling the landscape. attentive path to build ground" (Municipal Museum of Faro); Hugo Almeida Pinho, "Stone Stone", Appleton - Cultural Association, Lisbon, and "Terra Rara", Funcadión DIDAC, Santiago de Compostela, ES; Catarina Real "with a step on the same direction we keep the same distance", Painel Gallery, Porto.

David was head curator and programmer at Painel Gallery, Porto, PT (2016-2018), resident curator at Fundación DIDAC, Santiago de Compostela, ES (2019) and is presently a member of the curatorial team of CINENOVA - Interuniversity Film Festival. Perpendicularly he develops a critical and essayistic activity with which he regularly contributes to specialized magazines, artist books, academic editions and seminars.
