How would you describe your artistic style and what inspires your work?

My artistic style draws inspiration from the natural world, surrealism, biology, technology, and science, leading to the exploration of a wide range of themes and subjects.

You can often see this influence in my work, which features organic and natural elements and forms, fantasy creatures, and morphogenetic shapes. I enjoy incorporating these elements to create a sense of dreamlike wonder and challenge traditional perceptions of reality. This approach results in a distinctive style that characterizes my visual storytelling and expression.

Giusy Amoroso is an artist of the digital age whose artistic courage captures the multidimensionality of our world, or rather the Multiverse. Giusy draws inspiration from the anatomy of the human body, animals, insects, as well as organic forms and shapes from the plant universe. In her VR works, 3D animations and installations, she creates post-human landscapes and figures, many of which are inspired by bio-technological procedures, but also by the ongoing devastation of our planet and its environment. Her work reminds us that advanced technology can be used to create beauty, rather than simply contributing to overall destruction.”

Could you share a memorable anecdote or story from your artistic journey that has had a lasting impact on you?

Imagine you're on a journey through an unknown forest, and suddenly, you stumble upon a hidden path that leads to an awe-inspiring clearing. As you step into this newfound space, you're surrounded by a symphony of vibrant colors, intricate details, and a profound sense of interconnectedness.

“As you step into this newfound space, you're surrounded by a symphony of vibrant colors, intricate details, and a profound sense of interconnectedness.”

It's as if the world you once knew has transformed into something beautifully complex and harmonious. This experience reshaped my perspective and allowed me to see life and the world around me through a completely different lens. It not only changed my perception of the world but also expanded my awareness to the myriad of possibilities that exist beyond the boundaries of conventional thinking.

Can you talk about a specific piece or series that holds a special significance to you?

One project that holds a special place in my heart is PolyPixos, a Web3-native venture I co-founded with the talented artist Exitsimulation. This project seamlessly blends elements of digital art, character design, immersive experiences, and the creation of an intricate world. PolyPixos is a hybrid species, inhabitants of the otherworldly realm known as the Polyverse, a realm that encompasses multiple dimensions. PolyPixos embodies a profound aspect of my artistic vision, as it serves as a vehicle for my passion to explore alternative or parallel realities through art. It goes beyond mere aesthetics, encapsulating themes that carry significant importance in my artistic journey.

What sets PolyPixos apart is its underlying mission: to assist humanity in overcoming individual and collective traumas, nurturing global harmony, and maintaining balance across dimensions. This mission provides the project with a deep sense of purpose, reinforcing the belief that art can be a catalyst for positive change.

Can you describe your creative process and the themes or concepts that drive your work?

My creative process is very fluid, without strict rules or set methods. I start each project with a fresh outlook, exploring the subject to find new and creative ways to represent it. Once I understand the project's context, my artistic intuition guides me in the right direction.

How do you stay motivated and inspired in your artistic practice?

Remaining motivated and inspired in my artistic practice can be a challenge at times. There are moments when inspiration seems to elude me, and I experience creative blocks, which I refer to as "Blackout." During these periods, I find it beneficial to take breaks and engage in different activities to reignite my inspiration.

“I find it beneficial to take breaks and engage in different activities to reignite my inspiration.”

Lately, I've explored music and sound design, which has been particularly enriching. Going for walks, reading books, and playing video games also play a crucial role in revitalizing my creative energy. These diverse activities help me reconnect with my artistic drive and maintain my motivation for continuous creation.

How do you balance your artistic career with the business aspect of being an artist?

Balancing my artistic career with the business aspect has been an evolving process that I've learned to manage over time. It's not an easy task and requires a significant investment of time and effort. I've encountered the challenge of finding the right person to assist me, such as a representative. It's crucial that they align with my artistic visions and beliefs, and this alignment can be a complex process.

I've come to understand that this balance is dynamic and may vary based on the specific demands of different projects or phases in my career. It's a constant learning process, and I've developed strategies that allow me to effectively allocate my time and energy between the creative and business aspects of my art. Additionally, staying open to collaboration and being adaptable has been instrumental in managing this equilibrium successfully.

How do you see the role of contemporary art in today's society, and how do you see your work contributing to this?

I believe contemporary art plays a crucial role in today's society by serving as a mirror to reflect our ever-changing cultural landscape and by challenging prevailing norms and ideas.

With my background in sociology, I see my work as a contribution to this dialogue, with PolyPixos serving as a prime example. PolyPixos, in particular, contributes to humanity's efforts to overcome collective traumas. These endeavors exemplify how art can address societal issues, promote healing, and inspire profound transformations in our ever-evolving world.

Anything else you would like to add?

I'm very grateful for the privilege of expressing myself through my art and sharing this with others. It's an honor to have the opportunity to contribute artistically to our society through visual storytelling and images.
