Yohana Oizumi

Yohana Oizumi is a visual artist who lives and works in São Paulo. Her research is focused on the resistance of materialities.

This is evident in how she experiences and documents clay, the line, the paper through the clash between bodies through performance, drawing and sculpture. Through these multidisciplinary methods of artistic expression, she questions social control systems and their physical and psychological consequences by deconstructing, reconstructing, accepting and reframing marks and molds. She is attentive to and wants to characterize the visceral aspects inherent in different materialities.
