ArtConnect Relaunches with Exciting New Features

Berlin, Germany / October 14th, 2021

ArtConnect relaunches with updates that will make it easier for artists to find and search for trusted opportunities and put their art in front of an international audience.

Founded in 2011, ArtConnect began as a Berlin-based art blog focused on helping emerging artists navigate the art world and meet new people from the local community. Since then, ArtConnect has grown organically, becoming the leading platform for artists, curators, art organizations and art lovers to discover and share art and opportunities from around the world.

Now, ArtConnect is introducing a new platform with exciting features designed to further support the artist community: including an improved search engine to transform the way artists discover and apply to best-fit opportunities, a verification process to help connect artists with organizations they can trust, and more.

New and Improved Opportunities Database

ArtConnect’s new platform boasts an impressive search engine, allowing artists to more effectively and efficiently find the open calls, residencies, awards, and grants they are looking for. It is now possible to filter results by selecting specific criteria like eligibility, location, and artistic field. Plus, artists can bookmark opportunities they’re interested in; set reminders for approaching deadlines; and get notified about new opportunities that meet their criteria.

“We want to make it easier for artists to find and apply to high-quality opportunities so that they can spend more time making art. Increasing the overall quality of the opportunities, as well as the artist’s trust in the organizations that provide them, these are some of our main goals.”

- ArtConnect’s CEO, Pablo Kunert

New Verification Process to Build Trust Between Artists and Organizations

Navigating the world of art open calls is a challenging and time-consuming process for emerging artists that is only made worse by a lack of both transparency and trust. That’s why ArtConnect is introducing a carefully developed verification process for art organizations, making it possible to emphasize credibility and help build trust among the artist community.

“We know that artists trust ArtConnect to help them find genuine opportunities. With that trust comes a great deal of responsibility to make sure that we give these artists the value, information and guidance they need to take their art career to the next level.”

- ArtConnect’s CEO, Pablo Kunert

Continuing to Offer a Free Platform for Artists

ArtConnect is committed to putting the needs of artists first and creating a set of tools and resources within an inclusive environment. This consideration played a significant role in the development of the new platform. A central part of this vision was to continue offering these new features and improvements to artists for free.

“Unlike many other platforms, we have decided to remain free for artists to use. Our community tells us that they deeply value the approach we have chosen – where everyone can access our platform, regardless of where they live or what they earn. We believe it is important to be able to foster inclusivity, diversity, make space for debate and inspire conversation – so that more people from across the world have access to art and opportunities.”

- ArtConnect’s CEO, Pablo Kunert
