Galleries Open for Ongoing Submissions
Instead of running specific open calls, some galleries have an ongoing submission process, allowing you to send project proposals and your portfolio throughout the year. Here is a selection of art spaces across the globe that accept unsolicited submissions.
PAPER — Manchester, UK
PAPER is an artist-led, commercial gallery founded in 2012. They represent a range of emerging and mid-career artists whose practice is based around the medium of paper. This ranges from drawing, painting, and printmaking to artist’s books, video, and performance.
You can send them unsolicited material, preferably a link to your website. PAPER looks over all submissions, but only replies to artists who are being considered.
Artplex Gallery — Los Angeles, US
Artplex Gallery is a commercial gallery showcasing established and emerging international artists. They are always looking for emerging talent and accept ongoing submissions. Make sure to follow their submission guidelines, and take note that your material will become the gallery’s property – don’t send your originals.
gr_und — Berlin, DE
gr_und is a non profit artist-run space in Wedding, Berlin and an active space for the materialisation of curated concepts. They are a platform for experimentation across visual art, performance, sound and linguistics. They accept project proposal on a rolling basis.

Bass & Reiner — San Francisco, US
Bass & Reiner is a curatorial project with the goal of introducing artists to a broader audience in the Bay Area, expanding beyond traditional regional boundaries. Their purpose is to expand, strengthen, and connect arts communities, and accept digital submissions of work from emerging artists for individual exhibitions.

Cameron Contemporary Art — Brighton, UK
Cameron Contemporary Art showcases established and up-and-coming British artists. They hold around eight exhibitions annually and accept unsolicited submissions. Email six images that represent your work and a recent CV with details of any current gallery affiliations. The gallery reviews submissions every eight weeks, only successful submissions will be contacted.
The Biscuit Factory — Newcastle, UK
The Biscuit Factory is an independent commercial contemporary art, craft & design gallery located in Newcastle. They host four exhibitions per year. Artists can send submissions to exhibit throughout the year. And there are no charges to exhibit, as the gallery runs on commissions.

Echo Park Art — Los Angeles, US
Echo Park Art is an art gallery and community space that specializes in contemporary and fine art, often featuring group and solo exhibitions focused on specific themes. They welcome submissions on a rolling basis from artists worldwide (ages 18+), and are especially drawn to new contemporary, representational, and narrative art.
What to consider before you make contact
Never send out your portfolio to a galleries without careful consideration. Always take the time to reflect on your work in relation to the gallery — does it really fit? Read the guidelines closely and adapt your submission accordingly. Make sure your artist statement is up to date, and that it highlights the artworks that best represent your practice.
It’s also important to note that not all galleries welcome unsolicited submissions. if you are interested in a particular gallery, read their website carefully before reaching out.
