Alabama Historical Commission | Clotilda Memorial
The Alabama Historical Commission is seeking qualifications for an artist commission that will honor the last known African captives trafficked to the US through the transatlantic slave trade: the Clotilda survivors. The memorial will convey dimensions of the survivors’ lives and legacies—celebrating their resilient and determined spirits amidst violent dislocation, enslavement, and discrimination. It will preserve collective memory, honor heritage, and offer public space for healing.
Eligibility: Open to local, national, and international artists/ teams
Rewards: Project budget of $2,000,000 USD
Strathcona Regional District | Temporary Public Art
Artists are invited to apply for temporary public art commissions at the Strathcona Wilderness Centre, a year-round destination located east of Sherwood Park. These commissions support the creation of site-responsive artworks situated within the Wilderness Centre. Projects should invite visitors to experience the site in new ways, encouraging curiosity, reflection, and engagement with the landscape.
Eligibility: Open to Canadian artists/teams
Rewards: Budget of $10,000 CAD
Kansas City, MO | 3-D Public Art Project: Request For Proposals
The City of Kansas City, seeks qualifications for a professional visual artist/team to design, fabricate, and install permanent 3-D public art for a streetscape project near the historic Martin City neighborhood. Two to five semifinalist artists will be asked to advance to the Request For Proposals phase and propose designs.
Eligibility: Open to US-based artists/teams
Rewards: Minimum budget of $270,000 USD
Tyrolean Artist’s Association | Art in Public Space Funding
Under the thematic focus "Performing Environments!", public art in Tyrol 2027 seeks site-specific interventions that connect their physical surroundings with collective memories and subjective narratives through performance. The aim is to understand public space – whether rural or urban – not merely as a stage, but as a capable counterpart. Both temporary interventions and participatory, performative, and dialogical formats in public rural and urban spaces are eligible for funding.
Eligibility: Open to Austrian artists
Rewards: Funding amount at the jury's discretion (under EUR 80,000)
Jackson Hole Center for the Arts | Temporary Light-Based Installation
Center for the Arts in Jackson, Wyoming, invites artists and artist teams to submit qualifications for a temporary light-based installation celebrating their 20th anniversary. The selected installation will transform their Theater Gallery through the creative use of light and remain on view for approximately one year. Artists working with projection, LED technology, interactive media, fiber optics, kinetic light, sculpture, and other illuminated media are encouraged to apply.

City of Jefferson | Community Park Sculpture Series
This sculpture project seeks to celebrate the history of Jefferson City's Historic Foot District through public art. Artists are invited to create original sculptural works inspired by the experiences, resilience, and contributions of African Americans who lived and worked in the area. Selected works will serve as storytelling markers that honor the district's rich history and cultural legacy.

New Mexico Arts | Sundial Public Art Project
New Mexico Arts seeks an artist/artist team to create a public art sundial – a functional work of art. The sundial artwork will be installed at Spaceport America, an earthbound but aspirational space dedicated to inquiry in the high desert southwest of New Mexico. The intent of the sundial is to creatively represent the origins of measurement and human curiosity.
