AWARE | BRIDGE: Building, Revising, Inclusion – Diaspora and Gender Equality

AWARE, along with City of Women (Ljubljana), and Kunsthaus Graz, are launching an open call for three research residencies as part of BRIDGE: Building, Revising, Inclusion – Diaspora and Gender Equality, a two-year Creative Europe project (2026–2028). Hosted by the Cité internationale des arts in Paris, the AWARE research residency offers an opportunity to investigate the histories and trajectories of women and non-binary artists, whose artistic practices have been influenced by experiences of diaspora, exile or migration. The resident’s research will be presented on the AWARE platform and at a Conference held at Kunsthaus in autumn 2027.

Duration: 3 months

Rewards: Monthly stipend of €1,000, round-trip travel, studio, and more

Art Explora | Cité internationale des arts Residency Programme, 2027

Since 2021, Art Explora has been collaborating with Cité internationale des arts to host resident artists at their site in Montmartre. Art Explora offers both a solo residency for individual artists or a duo residency for an artist in collaboration with a researcher or scientist, or an artist collective. In both cases, the focus of the residency program is on artistic research and production.

Duration: 3 or 6 months

Rewards: €1,000 per month, production grants of up to €3,000, round-trip travel, accommodation, & workspace.

Cité internationale des arts

Since its founding in 1965, Cité internationale des arts offers numerous residency programmes, supporting artists from all nationalities and generations. Their programmes offer artists a period of research in the heart of Paris, support, and immersion within a community of over 300 artists. Whether focused on visual arts, music, literature, film, design, architecture, performing arts, or curatorial practices, each programme is designed to support personal work while encouraging artistic experimentation.

Duration: Variable

Rewards: Accommodation, studio, and various grants available depending on specific program.

Cinéma de Demain | The Résidence: Devote yourself to writing

Each year, the Résidence welcomes a dozen young directors to work on their first or second feature-length fiction film project, in two four-and-a-half month sessions. The device makes available to them a place of residence in the heart of Paris, a personalized programme accompanying the writing of their scripts, and a collective programme of forums with film industry professionals. The Festival’s Résidence is open to young filmmakers who have made one or several short films, and no more than one feature film.

Duration: 4.5 months

Rewards: Accommodation, mentorship, project presentation at Cannes with one director from each session awarded a €5,000 grant, and much more

CENTQUATRE-PARIS is a diverse space for artistic residencies, production and presentation in the 19th arrondissement in Paris. It offers a variety of residency programs focused on the different stages and rhythms of project development.

The Fondation Fiminco's artists' residency hosts various programmes for international artists and curators. With a wide range of workspaces and state-of-the-art production workshops for construction, ceramics, 3D printing, engraving, screen printing, photography, video, graphic design, textiles, and weaving, the Fondation Fiminco residency is a true hub for contemporary creation.
