European Cultural Foundation | New Fellowship Programme to Research the ECF Historical Archives
The Historical Archives of the European Union have recently opened to the public, and to encourage research into these historical holdings, the ECF has announced a fellowship program.
The fellowship aims to foster new research and creative work engaging with the history of the ECF and the broader role of culture in shaping Europe as a shared space of imagination, cooperation, and solidarity.
Rewards: €5,000-€10,000 grants
Camargo Foundation | Fellowship for scholars and thinkers
This sought after artist residency located in Cassis, France, on the edge of the Mediterranean Sea, opens its doors not only to artists, but scholars.
Eligible scholars in the Arts and Humanities will have a focus on French and Francophone cultures, or cross-cultural studies that engage the cultures and influences of the Mediterranean region. To be eligible for a fellowship in the “Scholars” category, applicants are expected either to hold a PhD and a record of post-doctoral scholarship, or to be PhD candidates completing the final stages of research for, or writing of, their dissertation.

National Gallery of Art | Postdoctoral Fellowships
Postdoctoral Fellowships are two-year, residential appointments that support research and writing for publication. In their first year, fellows design and direct an intensive weeklong seminar for the Center’s predoctoral fellows in residence, focusing on a topic related to the postdoctoral fellow’s field of interest and with a special emphasis on methodological issues. In the second year, postdoctoral fellows teach a course at a neighboring university.
Rewards: $55,000 per academic year, office, and housing
Smithsonian American Art Museum | Institution Fellowship Program
The Smithsonian Institution Fellowship Program offers in-residence opportunities for independent research and study related to Smithsonian collections, facilities, and/or research interests of the Institution and its staff. Fellowships are offered to graduate students, predoctoral students, and postdoctoral and senior investigators to conduct independent research and to utilize the resources of the Institution with members of the Smithsonian professional research staff serving as advisors and hosts.
Rewards: $10,000/for 10-week graduate student fellows; $45,000/year for predoctoral fellows, and $57,000/year for postdoctoral and senior fellows, plus additional reserach allowances.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art | Leonard A. Lauder Fellowships in Modern Art
The Leonard A. Lauder Research Center for Modern Art is the only center for scholarship on modern art located in an encyclopedic museum. Each year, the Research Center offers four fellowships: Pre-Doctoral Fellowship; a Post-Doctoral Fellowship, a one-year Mid-Career Fellowship;and, a one-year Non-Residential Doctoral Dissertation Completion Fellowship.
Fellowships with The Leonard A. Lauder Research Center for Modern Art offer an exceptional opportunity to conduct focused research on an independent project while contributing to the life of the Research Center.
Rewards: $50,000 for Pre-Doctoral fellows, $60,000 for Post-Doctoral fellows, $70,000 for Mid-Career fellows, travel stipend of $6,000, and health insurance
Canadian Centre for Architecture | Research Fellowship Program
As an international research institution, the CCA operates in the spaces between architectural culture at large and academic discourse through exhibitions, publications, public events, and research programs. The CCA’s Research Fellowship Program supports innovative, advanced research to foster new kinds of intellectual exchange that spark long-term dialogue and debate.
Fellowships are open to researchers, architects, and curators pursuing early stage, interdisciplinary research on architecture, urbanism, landscape, and/or design.
Rewards: Private office, monthly stipend of CAD 5,000, and additional financial support for travel expenses.
New York University | Ming Fay Research Fellowship 2027
The Inaugural Ming Fay Research Fellowship supports the production of original, archives-based scholarship on Ming Fay (1943–2025), whose multidisciplinary practice bridged sculpture, drawing, installation, ecology, and transnational cultural histories.
Proposals may address, but are not limited to: ecology and environmental thought; transnational identity and migration; Asian diasporic histories; material experimentation and sculptural practice; intersections of art, science, and spirituality; nature as mythology and cultural symbolism in art; Downtown New York art networks and artist collectives; and public art and site-specific installations.
Rewards: $2,500-$7,500 grant, archival access, and more
